Sikorsky S-70UAS U-Hawk

The Sikorsky U-Hawk, developed by Lockheed Martin, is an uncrewed version of the UH-60 Black Hawk designed to operate as an autonomous utility helicopter. Built from a converted UH-60L airframe, the U-Hawk removes the cockpit to expand internal cargo capacity by about 25 percent. It features new clamshell doors and a rear ramp for loading large equipment, cargo, or unmanned systems.

Powered by Sikorsky’s MATRIX™ autonomy suite, the U-Hawk can plan and execute missions with minimal human input, using advanced sensors, fly-by-wire controls, and real-time obstacle avoidance. The aircraft is intended for logistics, resupply, reconnaissance, and support missions in environments where crewed flight may not be practical or safe.

The U-Hawk is expected to begin flight testing in 2026, marking a step toward greater automation in battlefield and disaster-response aviation.
